What I built this weekend (and why I'm leaving)

Big personal news, one weekend of infrastructure, and the machine behind five active hours.

Archive Note

Originally published April 19, 2026. Adapted from the original Beehiiv issue. The career transition and weekend infrastructure build remain. A superseded EverFreely product description, an unsupported traffic-growth claim, old resource and affiliate links, the dated podcast roundup, and a former developer-cost comparison were removed.

Updated October 24, 2026

There's a change happening this week.

This month I start at a new company. On Friday I left the one I'd spent the last year and a half with to start a new chapter and join a team that's deeply AI-forward, the kind of place that lets me operate the way I already do. It's the right move. I'm excited about it.

And I'm keeping Seed & Society® running on five active hours a week.

This weekend I built the machine that makes those five hours count.

What I built that weekend

Blog Employee. An automated publishing system that tracks AI content, pulls transcripts, generates articles, uses Together AI to create the images, and publishes to The Connectors Market without me touching every step.

Ultimate AI Tool List. Every tool I actually used, organized by category. At the time, this became the single source of truth for my stack.

More languages for the podcast. Using ElevenLabs, I began making the podcast available in Spanish and French.

Not AI generating content for me to review. AI building infrastructure that runs without me.

Here's what was true in that moment. The distance between an idea and a working product had collapsed.

I was changing jobs, raising children, and keeping a media company moving. The point of the weekend wasn't how much I could produce. It was what I could build once so I didn't have to keep carrying every step by hand.

That's the asset-based thinking underneath all of it. Build the system. Teach it the job. Keep your judgment at the points that need you. Let the infrastructure hold the rest.
