Show Notes

Most people pick one A.I., usually whichever one they heard of first, and use it for everything. That's like owning one tool and treating every job as a nail. They're all free to try, and each one is better at something different. Here are the five I'm in almost every single day, and what I actually use each one for.

The five, and the job each one does best:
- ChatGPT: the everyday workhorse, for thinking out loud, brainstorming, first drafts, moving something forward fast
- Claude: the one for your voice and anything long or careful, real writing and documents that have to sound like you
- Perplexity: a real answer to a real question with the current sources cited, no ten blue links to dig through
- Gemini: lives inside Google, handles enormous amounts of information at once, and holds the image model people call Nano Banana, make or edit a picture from a sentence
- NotebookLM: upload your own notes, PDFs, or documents and it turns them into an audio overview, a podcast about your own material you can listen to on a walk

Your action for today, and it costs zero dollars: open one A.I. you've never actually used. Hand it the exact same task you already gave your usual tool today, the same question or draft. Put the two answers side by side and read them. One new tool, the same job, five minutes. The whole game is using the right tool for the thing instead of forcing one tool to do everything.

Who this is for: anyone who still runs everything through a single A.I. and suspects they're leaving leverage on the table.
